“Dancing on blood“ narrates a therapeutic encounter between dr. Arthur Robbins and Susan, a woman artist and former dancer, which occurs 18 years after having videotaped a five session art therapy dialogue between them. During the previous five sessions, Susan told him that she was living with a depressed mother who lost her father in the holocaust, and how she was coping with an unprocessed mourning and trauma. In this video, we see Susan returning to have a single session with dr. Robbins. Together with some scenes from their encounter, dr. Robbins comments on the therapeutic challenges a person like Susan creates. He proposes a way of opening a therapeutic space while remaining present and following the ongoing process.
